Writing Is Not A Contest

I know you would like to think it is — with all the accolades, stats and such but it’s not.

Each and everyone of us are starting at a different point and en route to different destinations. But many of you are petrified by the thought that others are writing “better” pieces than you.

There’s a lot of d*^k riding that goes on in the writing world. I don’t understand it. Aren’t we all just telling our own stories?

I can feel the energy of some of you — struggling to hammer out a piece(or more) a day. And for what?

Work at your own pace. Look in your drafts. That’s your competition.
